If you don’t have the fonts used in the sample file, you can replace them with your default fonts. You can also get the fonts used in the file – Nunito and Nunito. Please see Activate fonts for details.

  • Open an image or Photoshop (PSD) document.
  • From the toolbar, select the Type tool or simply press “T” to quickly select it. The Horizontal Type Tool with which you can add horizontal text is selected by default.
  • If you want to add text vertically, click the Type tool again and select the Vertical Type Tool from the context menu.
  • Do you want to add some words like the title? Click anywhere on the board to write it down. In Photoshop, this text is called point text.
  • Another type of text in Photoshop is called paragraph text. As indicated in the name, this type is used when you want to write a paragraph.
  • Click and drag the cursor on the panel to create a bounding box in which you can type your paragraph. This command helps you effectively edit and align the paragraph later.
  • Type your text. To save your changes, click in the options bar or press Esc and you’re good to go!

Text selection method

  • Open the Photoshop document that contains the text you want to edit.
  • To select the entire text or paragraph on a type layer, select the Move tool from the toolbar and double-click the text you want to select.
  • To select one or more characters on a type layer, simply select the Type Tool from the toolbar and then click and drag the cursor over the characters you want to select.
  • Once you select the text, you will be able to edit the text, change the text color, change the text size, copy and paste text, and do other things.

Text editing method

  • Open the Photoshop document that contains the text you want to edit.
  • Select the Type Tool from the toolbar.
  • Select the text you want to edit.
  • The options bar at the top of the page includes options for setting font type, font size, font color, font alignment, and text style.

How to copy and paste text

  • You can copy text from other documents and paste it into your Photoshop Document (PSD). For example, from a Word file, PDF file, web page, or other Photoshop (PSD) file.
  • Copy and paste text from a file in a format other than Photoshop.
  • In a file in a non-Photoshop format such as a Word file, PDF, or web page, click and drag the pointer over the text to select it.
  • Press Command+C (on macOS) or Control+C (on Windows) to copy the selected text.
  • Open the Photoshop document (PSD) into which you want to paste the copied text and select the Type Tool from the toolbar.
  • Select the type layer from the Layers panel where you want to paste the text. If you don’t have type layers or want to add another type layer, see steps 2 and 3 on how to add text.
  • Choose Edit > Paste, or press Command+V (macOS) or Control+V (Windows) to paste text.
  • To undo the action, choose Edit > Undo Paste Text.

How to Copy and Paste from Another Photoshop Document (PSD)

  • Open the PSD file from which we want to copy the text.
  • Select the text you want to copy and choose Edit > Copy or simply press Command+C (macOS) or Control+C (Windows).
  • Open the PSD file you want to paste the text into and select a type layer. If you don’t have type layers or want to add another type layer, see steps 2 and 3 on how to add text.
  • Choose Edit > Paste to paste your text into the center of your panel. You can also choose Edit > Paste Special > Paste in Place to place the text as it was in the PSD file you copied from.

Text transfer method

To move your text on the Photoshop panel:

  • Open the Photoshop document that contains the text you want to edit.
  • Select the type layer that contains the text you want to move.
  • Select the Move tool in the toolbar.
  • In the options bar, make sure Auto Select Layer (macOS) or Layer (Windows) is selected, and then click the text you want to move.
  • You can then display the transformation box with the dark arrow.
  • Click and move the transform box, then release it to place the text where you want it.

How to change the text color

Change the color of the entire text

  • Open the Photoshop document that contains the text you want to edit.
  • Select the Type Tool from the toolbar and click the text whose color you want to change. The text in the type layer is fully selected.
  • Click the Color Picker (Text Color) icon in the options bar.
  • Move the color slider as you like and choose your color. You can see the color of your text change in real-time as you choose different colors.
  • Once you have chosen the text color, click OK.
